YUVAPUN SAENGWONG 56 YEAR OLD
SUFFERING WITH AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS (ALS)
Since childhood he used to have high fevers however during the last 4 years he has had fevers very often.
At the end of 2010 during his running about 2 kilometers suddenly he cannot move his legs. In addition to this when he tried to take something with his Hand he felt numbness and pain which he thought may be caused by excessive gripping of his Motorcycle Handlebars.
During the morning he had cramps in both Legs, aches in the Neck and Shoulders and his balance was very bad hindering him from being able to walk on Railway Tracks that he could do before.
In 2011 when walking he noticed that his Leg started to get progressively weaker and he went to a Hospital to see a Neurologist however they only prescribed medicine for him that did not help. After this he went to another Hospital where he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) with degenerated Spinal Nerves and here they also prescribed medicine for him to try and inhibit a worsening of his symptoms. The medicine did not help his symptoms and he had to use a Walking Stick due to weak Legs and could not walk far. In addition to this due to Arm and Finger weaknesses he could not write, had shaking Hands, could not use a spoon to eat soup, had to support himself using a Table when standing up and could not speak clearly due to Dysarthria.
